Engage is a hot new company out of Australia that specializes in premium MMA fight gear. With the rise of UFC star Israel Adesanya, they've capitalized on their sponsorship with him. It's a perfect match between the styles of MMA gear they make and Stylebender's fashion style.
In this review we're going to cover their MMA Shorts. The types of shorts they carry are:
Hybrid shorts are of course a hybrid of the different shorts used for mixed martial arts. They blend the best qualities of traditional board shorts, vale tudo and compression shorts all-in-one. The combined shorts for no gi BJJ, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, and MMA into one pair of shorts.
They have a shorter leg length than the grappling shorts. They have a similar short length as Muay Thai Shorts but look more like board shorts.
These hybrid shorts come in 11 different styles.
The grappling shorts have more of a classic MMA fight style look. The fall right above the knee. Not everyone likes to show their thighs like the Muay Thai fighters. Wrestlers like Khabib Nurmagomedov like to wear board shorts that are right at the knee.
Although wrestlers wear tight singlets in competition, for some reason when they fight in MMA they like to wear board shorts that are looser and right at or above the knee. Like Chuck Liddell in his prime UFC days.
The grappling shorts come in 6 styles.
Vale Tudo and Compression Shorts
There's really no difference between Engage's vale tudo shorts and their compression shorts so we're including them together. The vale tudo compression style was made extremely popular with Pride Fighting Championships. Especially with fighters like Mirko Cro Crop and Fedor Emelianenko.
Shorts like these are super comfortable to wear and allow you to high kick with no limits. They also are harder to grab which of course is illegal now in MMA but fighters still do it. When you wear board shorts, its easier to grab.
Engage has 6 different styles of vale tudo and compression shorts. The first pair below is the only one listed as vale tudo and the rest are listed as compression shorts for those wondering.
Engage is making waves in the MMA gear and apparel industry. They are blending the functionality of quality shorts for mixed martial arts and the hot and trendy fashion looks out there now.
They have 3 different types of shorts and many different cool styles:
They have more minimalistic designs and then there are the floral designs, animal designs and our favorite, the Luxe Series.
The Luxe Series as shown in the images above have the looks of high end and very popular designer brands like Versace, Gucci, and Louis Vuitton X Supreme.
The Luxe Series also has MMA gloves, shin guards, and more.
